An hour of event planning didn’t save me ten hours of doing

And honestly, I wasn’t happy about that. After 20 years of organizing live events, I never found a tool that made event planning both efficient and effective. So, instead of settling for what was out there, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create the perfect solution from scratch.

Failing to plan is planning to fail

I entered the event business about 20 years ago. Since then, I’ve produced dozens of events, participated in hundreds, and researched thousands. Too often, the results of event production are just mediocre or “good enough.” This usually happens because of poor planning or failing to communicate the plans properly.

But we deserve better events. And for that, we need better event planning. There are plenty of great event management apps out there, but I never found the perfect one for me. That’s why I created Bonacube. I wanted something that would help me plan and produce better events—efficiently and effectively. Doing the right things, the right way. And I thought, why not share this tool with others?

Bonacube App was designed with these principles in mind:

  1. Plans are useless, but planning is everything.
Events are dynamic, and old-fashioned plans—like endless documents and spreadsheets—don’t keep up. By the time you share a plan, it’s already outdated. And you’re never sure if people understood it the way you meant. I knew there had to be a better way.

  2. Keep it simple.
Events seem complicated, but they don’t have to be. When you break an event down, you find just a few key things: the idea (why), the content (what), and the tools/processes (how). These things are either about space, staff, equipment, or services. That’s how I think and plan events. (Scroll down to learn more about the Event Magic Cube).

  3. The difference between good and great is in the details.
The only place where good and great truly matter is in the mind of the customer. Event planning is really about planning the customer experience. The more attention you give to the details, the better your chances of creating a successful event that makes a profit.

  4. Always improve.
I consider myself a perfectionist in some areas, but I’ve learned that it’s better to focus on progress than perfection. For Bonacube, this means development will never stop. The same applies to event planning—there’s always room to improve. And we’ve got big ideas in the pipeline.

Because we deserve better events.
